"And a river runs through it" is
Shady Cove's motto. Shady Cove has spectacular views
of tree covered mountains which are nestled along
the Rogue River. The world renowned Rogue River is
famous for its salmon and steelhead fishing. It is
also known for bird watching and river rafting on
summer days. Inflatable raft and Tahiti kayak rental
are available at many locations in the town.
The town of Shady Cove puts on many special events
throughout the year. Some of the events are Daffodil
Days, the world famous SPAM parade, the Salmon Barbeque
and the River Art Walk.
Shady Cove is quaint with a country flair, yet it
is growing. At the present time, there are three
motels, several fine dining restaurants, three gas
stations, a winery, gift shops, shops with home-made
candies, the Whole Life Yoga business, several banks,
a full-service grocery store, many new housing developments
and much more. |
Shady Cove is a picturesque
23-mile drive from Medford and ten miles from Eagle
Point. Crater Lake is Oregon’s only national
park and it is just 47 miles from Shady Cove.

There are plenty of wildflowers, hiking trails, bike
routes, waterfalls and wildlife. Wild turkeys and
deer are bountiful in Shady Cove.
The climate in Shady Cove is similar to the other
areas of southern Oregon with its four seasons and
mild climate. The average annual rainfall is 33 inches,
with four inches of snow. Shady Cove has approximately
